AMCHAM MONGOLIA HOLDS MONTHLY MEETING ON MONGOLIA'S STRUGGLE FOR ECONOMIC FREEDOM

ULAANBAATAR, June 25, 2026 — The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Mongolia held its June Monthly Meeting under the theme "Mongolia's Struggle for Economic Freedom: Corruption, Commerce and Commitment," providing a platform for dialogue on issues affecting Mongolia's business and investment environment.

The meeting was moderated by James (Jay) Liotta, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AmCham Mongolia.

The keynote address was delivered by Richard L. Buangan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to Mongolia, who discussed Mongolia's investment climate, highlighting the challenges and opportunities for strengthening bilateral commercial relations between Mongolia and the United States.

The keynote was followed by a panel discussion featuring representatives from the U.S. Embassy, the Economic Policy and Competitiveness Research Center (EPCRC), PwC Mongolia, and Mongolia's Investment and Trade Agency. Panelists examined the country's investment climate and discussed the opportunities and obstacles shaping U.S.-Mongolia commercial cooperation.

The panel included:

• Michael Richmond, PhD, Senior Commercial Specialist, U.S. Embassy in Ulaanbaatar;
• Zandan Bilegt, Acting Director-General, Investment and Trade Agency;
• Otgochuluu Chuluuntseren, PhD, Chief Executive Officer, Economic Policy and Competitiveness Research Center (EPCRC); and
• Enkhsanaa Erdene-Ochir, Tax Senior Manager, PwC Mongolia.

The discussion focused on key issues influencing Mongolia's economic competitiveness, investment environment and regulatory framework. Speakers also exchanged views on measures to improve transparency, strengthen investor confidence and expand bilateral trade and investment between Mongolia and the United States.

AmCham Mongolia's monthly meetings serve as a forum for dialogue between the public and private sectors on policy developments and emerging issues affecting the country's business community.
