Sharyn Gol JSC expects to commission a 600,000-tons-per-year coal-washing plant before the end of the first quarter of 2015. This will help the company, so far selling its coal to domestic power plants, to enter the international market, as and when global prices of coal stabilize. “So far, companies from Japan, S.Korea, Turkey and Russia have expressed interest and we hope to begin to export in 2016-2017,” said B.Otgonzul, Director of Business Development and Investment. Until then, she added, the coal is to be sold to cement plants in the country that require higher-quality coal.
