A seven-member team of MPs appointed by the Economic Standing Committee claims to have unearthed several instances of misuse of funds at Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi LLC. Its leader, D. Khayankhyarvaa, told a press conference that the state-owned company had hired more staff than planned for, and that many employees were being paid salaries higher than is normal in government, with MNT 6 million a month for the chairman and MNT 1.8 million a month for each board member. They also described many travel expense claims as exorbitant.
