The environmental and human rights movement Gal Undesten (Fire Nation) has announced that it will move the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against Cogegobi LLC, an Areva Mongol subsidiary, if the latter does not agree to halt its operations in Mongolia. Gal Undesten has already asked the French company to stop all its exploration, evaluation and research in the country.
The movement claims that the company flouts the laws of Mongolia and decisions by local authorities, and that it has violated the legal rights and interests of local residents through its illegal operations in the country.
