Erdene Resource Development Corp recently released the results of their second-quarter exploration programme at its Altan Nar gold-polymetallic project. Findings from surface exploration and drilling have supported the sustained development of the mineralisation project. Two prospects, the Discovery Zone and Union North, have exhibited substantial amounts of high-grade mineral content. The most notable drill-hole included 17.7 g/t of gold over a 5-metre interval within a 19-metre interval of 5.8 g/t of gold. Both areas also revealed sizeable amounts of near-surface mineralisation. In addition to these two zones, the exploration project identified 10 other high-profile drilling prospects within the 5.6km by 1.5km area at Altan Nar.
As trenching and exploration drilling continues, it is becoming more evident that Erdene is in ownership of a highly prospective asset. Current exploration has shown higher concentrations of high-grade gold and silver along with notable traces of zinc and lead. Moreover, most target zones have not yet been tested lower than 250 metres underground, despite displaying high gold concentrations at depth. Erdene will continue exploration of Altan Nar throughout the remainder of the year.
