
On the opening day of the China Mining 2025 event held in Tianjin, People’s Republic of China, a dedicated session titled “Mining in Mongolia” was successfully organized. This special event was collaboratively hosted by the Embassy of Mongolia in China, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, and the Mongolian National Mining Association (MNMA), with strong support from Oyut Ulaan LLC and the Erdenes Mongol Group.

The session aimed to showcase Mongolia’s mining sector, highlighting its current status, investment climate, and future prospects to an international audience of investors. Over 150 participants attended, including notable figures such as Members of Parliament J. Zoljargal, Ch. Lodoisambuu, and S. Tsenguun; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to China N. Enkhbold; Niu Li, Deputy Director of the Department of Geological Exploration and Mining Supervision of China’s Ministry of Natural Resources; M. Mendbayar, Director of the Policy Planning and Research Department at Mongolia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources; G. Yondon, Director General of the state-owned Erdenet Mining Corporation; G. Erdenetuya, Executive Director of MNMA; as well as representatives from the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority of Mongolia (MRPAM), Erdenes Mongol Group, Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi JSC, the Mongolian Stock Exchange, and Oyut Ulaan LLC. The event brought together senior leaders from both public and private sectors, investors, and mining industry experts.

The session was officially opened with remarks by Ambassador N. Enkhbold and Deputy Director Niu Li, emphasizing the significance of bilateral collaboration. Several key presentations were delivered to provide attendees with comprehensive insights:
M. Mendbayar addressed “State Policy on Industry and Mineral Resources”, outlining the government’s strategic approach to sector development.
S. Tuvshinbayar, Head of the Petroleum Production Division at MRPAM, presented on “The Current Status and Future Outlook of Mongolia’s Geology, Mining, and Oil Sectors.”
D. Yadamjav, Manager for Quality and Productivity at Erdenes Mongol, discussed “Erdenes Mongol Group and Investment Opportunities.”
Representatives of Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi JSC introduced the company’s operations and prospects.
A. Munkhbayasgalan, Director of Compliance and Regulation at the Mongolian Stock Exchange, explained the process and benefits of “Trading Mining Products through the Mongolian Stock Exchange.”
The event underscored the strategic importance of strengthening Mongolia-China cooperation in mining to foster sustainable, responsible development throughout the region.
As part of the broader China Mining 2025 conference, sessions are also being held to showcase cooperation initiatives between China and various countries and regions, including the Middle East, Africa, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Nepal, and Madagascar.
